Let's Get Started
To start a new GoGirlGo! group in King County, there are a few easy steps that you must take.

Step 1

Contact  your local GoGirlGo! Coordinating Chair who can answer any questions that you may have about the program.  She can give you information about a variety of resources available to you.    Sheri at sheri@getagirlgoing.org or 425-802-2080

Step 2

Go online at www.gogirlgo.com to order your FREE curriculum materials.  Remember that although these materials are free to you, the Women's Sports Foundation spends quite a bit of money on publishing these materials.  If you do not use them or have extras, please return them to the Women's Sports Foundation.

Step 3
Talk to your school or organization about starting a GoGirlGo! group.  Find out what their rules and regulations are regarding volunteer background checks, how you can market the program, how to sign up to use space after school, etc.  After you  have permission, start putting up flyers and spreading the word.  (You can contact us for ready-made fliers.  You add in your own information and print them out.)

Step 4
Plan your group sessions using the Leader's guide that comes with your GoGirlGo! curriculum packet.

Step 5
Register your group on our website (this feature will be coming soon).  We will support you via email, phone conversations, and our website.

What Exactly is GoGirlGo!?

GoGirlGo! is a free curriculum created by the Womens' Sports Foundation geared towards 8-18 year old girls.  It has 8 sections and can be implemented as an after-school program, summer program, or incorporated into PE lessons.  It can be implemented at a school, Boys & Girls Club, YMCA, church, synagogue, girl scouts, and a variety of other places.  The groups meet 8-10 times (or longer if you want).  Each group meeting you spend about half an hour talking about a successful female athlete and an adolescent issue (such as bullying, diversity, body shape).  The other half hour is spent doing physical actvity.  It can be the same thing every week or something different every week.  The girls could learn a sport (basketball), individual exercise (yoga), or simply be lead in physical games (hopscotch, jumprope, etc.).  The organiztion that wants to use this curriculum will be supported by Hadassah Seattle.  We will give you guidance, support, training, and more.
